Your Crew in Turkey
The Minds Behind

At Frame34, we integrate technological solutions with innovative concepts and local expertise. Our company is headquartered in Istanbul, with operations extending across the region. We provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure the smooth execution of filming and photography productions. Our company possesses a wide range of expertise in various production styles, including documentaries, commercials and entertainment. We are committed to delivering high-quality results.
So what's the deal with “34”?
You're probably wondering why it's called “Frame34” and what this name refers to.
It's quite simple. The area code for Istanbul is 34, and car license plates also start with 34, followed by two or three letters and a number.
The number 34 is therefore the ultimate symbol for Istanbul. Istanbul's postal codes also begin with 34xxx.
We could also be called “Frame Istanbul,” but we prefer “Frame34.”
Ceyda Kalafatçıoğlu

Ceyda Kalafatcıoğlu is a fixer and partner at Frame34. She used to be a professional ballet dancer and has experience in the performing arts, media, and event management. After finishing school at the Vienna Conservatory, she worked at the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava for four years. After she got hurt, she went back to Istanbul and started working in television production for Turkish TV at "Medyapım". She has worked on shows like "Wheel of Fortune", "50 Blonds" and "Dancing on Ice". She also organised international festivals and jazz concerts. At the moment, she works at Frame34, a company that makes entertainment, documentaries, corporate films and advertisements. She uses her experience of living and working in other countries, as well as her past in entertainment.
Christian Feiland

Christian Feiland is a journalist, director, producer, fixer and director of photography who specialises in high-end documentaries, branded content and international co-productions, while retaining his instinct for fast-turnaround news reporting.
He has worked in the German media since the 1990s for broadcasters including Kiss FM Berlin, RTL, Pro7 and ARTE. He has lived in Istanbul since 1997, witnessing many of the country's defining historical moments firsthand. His regional work extends to Syria, Azerbaijan and Cyprus. These assignments have occasionally put him in the line of fire, with bullets even being fired over his head. Literally. Throughout his career, his trusted local network and fluency in Turkish have ensured that productions remain on track.
Chris's connection to Istanbul runs deeper than most: his ancestors were watchmakers for the sultan in 1875. Precision, it seems, is in his blood.
Didem Kantoğlu

When a production needs to run like clockwork, Didem Kantoğlu is the one making it happen. She has worked in media and creative production for nearly 20 years. During this time, she has completed more than 30 major projects at Medyapım. She also spent 11 years creating the visual style of some of Turkey's best-known brands at Morhipo. There, she planned photo shoots for one of the country's biggest online shopping platforms. She has also worked on video productions for PR films of luxury hotels in Turkey and Cyprus. She can create high-quality content for campaigns and brands. She is always quick, focused and ahead of the game.
Need the perfect scene? Didem is a prop expert who can find anything, from everyday things to special items. And if it doesn't exist yet, she'll create it.
Hüseyin Aldemir

Hüseyin Aldemir is a photojournalist and drone operator based in Istanbul. He has a keen eye for storytelling. He studied journalism at Istanbul Bilgi University and started his career as a reporter and photojournalist. He worked at Reuters full-time until 2022, and then he started his own business.
Since then, he has been covering breaking news and social issues across Turkey and beyond, while also working on corporate, PR and advertising productions for clients such as Ferrero and +90. His editorial work has been published in some of the world's most respected outlets, including The New York Times, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, and Paris Match.
Hüseyin has been a trusted part of the Frame34 network for almost ten years. He possesses extensive knowledge of all regions of Turkey.
For my research I conduct background discussions on many occasions with Christian Feiland and his Crew, since they have fundamental experience, an excellent network and unbiased knowledge of the region and mentality of the people.
During our co-operation for the WDR (ARD Group) documentation „The Power Of Erdogan – How A President Polarises The People“ in Fall 2016, Frame34 proved once again, that all those those qualities are self-explanatory for them.
Ciğdem Akyol
Journalist & Book Author
For me, as a freelance author and producer for Swiss television SRF, the duo Ceyda Kalafatçıoğlu and Christian Feiland were a stroke of luck.
Christian remained good-humoured throughout the spontaneous, dynamic planning and limited production resources of my documentary shoot in Istanbul. They were both extremely flexible and equally persistent during the extremely long production day.
Christian's camerawork, journalistic insight and, above all, his role as a cultural mediator in Turkish society were extremely valuable! I would like to thank them once again for their excellent collaboration.
Fabian Biasio
Multimedia Producer & Director
I can only warmly recommend working with Frame34. They are an extremely professional and friendly team in all circumstances, whether it's during the fixing and preparation stages or during filming. I've called on them for assignments in very specialized fields, and they've been a success! I already know that I'll be calling on Ceyda and Chris again without hesitation for my next shoots in Turkey.
Virginie Plaut
Journalist & Filmmaker
Due to the outstanding work of Christian Feiland and Frame34 we successfully filmed stunning TV footage of human trafficking along Turkey’s Aegean coast during the height of the refugee crisis in the Fall of 2015. Chris was instrumental in our receiving the 2016 German Television Award (Deutscher Fernsehpreis) in the “best reporting” category for our 45min film. Thank you very much for that!
Helmar Büchel
Director
We booked Christian Feiland, gear and production support on a Paramount Picture special anniversary Re-release for Pete Weir’s film, „Gallipoli“ with Mel Gibson. From beginning to end they did a great job and I look forward to hiring them over and over again.
Jay Schlossberger
Producer
Frame34 has been an invaluable partner for us, supporting our development of AP Live Community from its concept to fully functioning online platform. Extremely professional, highly communicative and full of ideas…. Frame34 is exactly the type of skilled production company which we warmly welcome into our growing Community, offering expert crewing and 3G/4G LiveU transmission services on location. We are delighted to distinguish Christian and his team as ‘AP Approved’.
Tobi Goode
AP Global Media
Following the trail of an alleged murderer to southeast Anatolia was an adventure. Other crews had rejected the job, and colleagues had warned me. But they said: 'We will do it!'
Although I felt uneasy when I exited the plane in Istanbul, my confidence grew quickly. My 'Turkish crew' started work thoughtfully, committedly and professionally. They were quite daring when dealing with officials in the southeast, during confrontations with the governor's bureau, and when encountering plain-clothes police officers and gendarmerie while driving through impassable mountain roads. By the end of the day, I had all the footage I needed. I always felt secure and well guided, not to mention being in very pleasant company. My film won the first 'Mainzer Journalist' Award. The crew played an important role in the film's success.
Ulricke Eichin
ZDF Journalist
To me, Christian Feiland is – especially for delicate projects – a rare stroke of luck, reminiscent of the rare virtues of the legendary BBC- cameramen: a well-informed journalist who is quick to react while at the same time competently handling his camera. Christian had a major part in the production of a 52 min. documentary film for arte “Bevölkert mit Kämpfern und Träumern”, a highly complicated production due to its adventurous journey into the sometimes turbulent southeast of the country, which was produced for the „Frankfurt Book Fair 2008“ with Turkey as a guest of honor.
Tilman Jens †
Book Author, Director
Ceyda and Christian (Frame34) have been of priceless value for our investigations in Istanbul. Their equipment is state of the science and their network very much up to date. Besides all professionalism, it is great fun to work with them and regarding any future project in Turkey we definitely will work with Frame34 again.
